Danielle Spence Talent Services Manager has been employed by General Motors Canada for over 21 years. After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University she took on one of the most challenging assignments as a Production Supervisor, working at the Oshawa Assembly Plant. That is where Danielle found that her passion was in people and leading them specifically. She pursued a career in Human Resources and has been part of the Human Resources team with varying roles within the Human Resources/People Services functions with increased responsibility, operationalizing many HR programs / policies within Canada. She has played an important role in supporting the cultural change at GM. In her most recent position, she has helped implement a new HRIS system during COVID, supported the new Work Appropriately Philosophy and continues to leverage others as a voice to improve employee facing HR processes to ensure they are inclusive by all and have the best user experience. Danielle is a very passionate leader, and mentor to the other HR partners in Canada. She acts as the country HR policy advisor and provides consultation and support to HR and leaders on key Human Resources Policies. She was a mentor for the Women’s Council previously and is a strong DEI advocate.
