Emily is a Consultant within Arup’s Structures team based in Toronto. She is a member of OPSE’s Sustainable Cities Task Force, The IstructE Young Member’s Panel, and SECED’s Young Member’s Subcommittee. Emily worked for Arup’s Advanced Technology and Research Group in London, United Kingdom for 4 years prior to returning to Toronto to work full time this past august. She has additionally worked in Germany, Malta, as well as Quebec and Ontario. Emily Specializes in existing structures, building retrofit and masonry, mortar, timber and heritage design and analysis. She regularly advises on lime mortar analysis, repair, and specification as well as on masonry arch and tunnel analysis. She was a runner up in the ICE London Regional Emerging Engineer’s award for her research on the use of thrust line analysis on masonry tunnels. She has received a graduate research award from the IstructE for her Master’s Research on Robustness and Progressive Collapse of mid-rise CLT structures. Emily completed her Bachelors at the University of Ottawa in Civil Engineering (BASc.) and her Masters at Imperial College London in Structural Engineering (MSc).
