Katy Kwong is an Associate Vice President of Supply Chain Technology, SRE Operations at Canadian Tire Corporation. She brings over two decades of experience in the public and private sectors. On her very first professional project in 2000, she helped to launch the first e-Commerce webstore for Canadian Tire. Since her return to Canadian Tire in 2019, she has established an enterprise intelligence-driven, automation-enabled operation team that provides AIOps support for critical business processes. She now owns the Site Reliability Engineering function for Canadian Tire’s Supply Chain business unit.
Kwong holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, Industrial Engineering, from the University of Toronto, as well as Project Management Professional and Certified Scrum Product Owner certifications. Kwong also volunteers with UofT Engineering CONNECT, offering mentoring for engineering students and graduates.
Prior to her career at Canadian Tire, Kwong gained a breadth of diverse professional experience, including roles as Client Portfolio Manager at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada (OSFI) and Senior Project Manager at CIBC and TD Bank. At the OSFI, Kwong managed the 400+ staff Information Technology portfolio for the Supervision and Regulation sectors. At TD, she led the implementation of the Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance platform. She has also worked as a project and portfolio management consultant at several private firms.
As a proud mother of a creative son and a teenage daughter passionate about STEM, Kwong has a vested interest in nurturing inclusive spaces for present and future engineers.
