Mukul is a licensed professional engineer who also holds a master’s in business administration from the Schulich School of Business. Mukul’s career has spanned over 35 years and has included working on three continents. In this time, he focused on international marketing of engineering products/projects, which has given him a deep understanding of diverse cultural norms, nuances and traditions. After a successful corporate career at the senior executive level, including CEO, Mukul founded a mid-size international business. As CEO, Mukul was responsible for P&L activities, international marketing, contract negotiations, arranging lines of credit and trade-financing. This experience gained in dealing with people from diverse cultures from around the world was invaluable. Mukul’s experience and expertise has been in areas of: Governance; Strategic Planning; policy initiatives and risk management. Mukul’s work on the board committee of OSPE for almost 2 years has focused on developing a white paper for advocacy to provincial government for policy on Data Governance, analytics and understanding of data privacy regulations and Cyber security issues. It has delved into emerging technologies such as A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) , quantum computing and Cyber security ; Federal & provincial data protection regulations ( GDPR ) and looked at various other jurisdictions ( like UK, Estonia, Singapore, Australia) and draw upon best practices from these countries to incorporate in Ontario. Additionally, Mukul has served on the Oakville Chamber of Commerce: serving on the Govt. Relations & Advocacy Committee for almost a decade. He has also served as chair of the Halton Champions of Innovation for 8 years where he focused on governance, strategic planning and marketing. Mukul also currently serves as a board member of Waterlution, a water learning experience, serving as board member focused on governance issues, strategic planning and risk & opportunity management. Mukul is also a past chair (innovation) of the Oakville chapter of Professional Engineers of Ontario.
